We welcome the news last night that there is now a path out of lockdown, to a healthy and normal freedom.
We have been quiet here since closure out of respect to regulars and colleagues who have all been through tough times, either financially, emotionally or in terms of their health. What we all know is nothing will be the same again.
We haven’t decided yet if we open in April or May, it will entirely depend on our risk assessment of how well we can keep customers safe. What is for sure is that we will be reopening though; we are going nowhere!
We have taken the last few months to reflect on our experiences since moving in and trading, what we love, what we can do better and what we want the Bugle to stand for.
We have taken the opportunity to have some internal works completed, thanks to Stonegate breweries, employed new staff, completed training as well as revamping our whole menu offer.
The hotel rooms have been renovated and redecorated and will also be having a relaunch, with new offers and price points.
Reopening after lockdown will be like a second start and we are grateful for the support from key friends in the community that have reached out and made me and my family so welcome. Not least, the lovely Kelly Law who has got my wife involved with the brilliant market hall.
The Bugle is a beautiful pub, with a great history. We stand for serving decent people, nice folks who enjoy good food and good service, enjoy entertainment, who have embraced us and our family into the village.
We look forward to a great future and hope you will join us when we open, to support us and the venue.
With thanks and best wishes
Mat and Sarah.
